Vehicle Emissions Inspector & Certified Emissions Repair Technician Training

Inspector Training

Emissions Inspectors are required to be certified every 3 years by attending Northern Virginia Community College's (NVCC) AUT-225 offered at the Alexandria and Manassas Campuses.

Certified Emissions Repair Technicians are required to be certified every 3 years by either successfully completing the Certified Emissions Repair Technician course (AUT-226) offered at NVCC's Alexandria and Manassas Campuses or by possessing a valid Advanced Engine Performance Specialist (L1) from the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence.

NVCC Emissions Inspector Class Results

The following Student ID Numbers have passed the final exam on the date noted at each campus below. The Student ID Number is the number you are assigned by the Northern Virginia Community College when you enroll. This number can be found on your receipt when you registered for the Inspector class.

Class results are typically posted after 5:00 pm the day after the exam is held.

  1. This service is only available to current Emissions Inspection Stations and Certified Emissions Repair Facilities.
  2. Only listings for Licensed Emissions Inspectors and/or Certified Repair Technicians will be accepted.
  3. New job listings will be posted by close of business on the first and third Monday of each month.
  4. Listings will automatically expire and be removed after four weeks.
  5. After the listing has expired, you can resubmit this form to have the job listed again.
  6. By submitting the form to DEQ/MSOPS, you indicate that you understand and accept these rules.
