Mercury in Schools

The EPA Schools and Mercury website provides website links to information for school administrators, faculty, staff, local health jurisdictions, and parent groups on how to reduce the hazards of mercury on children's health, avoid chemical liabilities, develop planning tools, and establish collection programs for mercury.

The University of Wisconsin's "Mercury in Schools" project activities include providing a clearinghouse of information related to reducing mercury usage, increasing mercury recycling, improving mercury management, educating students and teachers about eliminating mercury, and conducting workshops for educators and staff. The project's website includes links to a curriculum package, a mercury IQ test for students, and two online classes on mercury education.
