USAG Fort Lee, DPW has applied for a reissuance of a permit for the Cardinal Golf Course in Prince George County, Virginia. The permit would allow the applicant to withdraw an average of 39,699 of gallons per day. The ground water withdrawal will provide supplemental irrigation water for the golf course. The proposed withdrawal will utilize the Middle Potomac aquifer at a depth between 105 feet to 255 feet below the land surface at the withdrawal site.  An aquifer is a body of rock or layer of sediment in the ground in which ground water is stored and transported. DEQ has made a tentative decision to issue the permit.

April 27, 2013 to May 27, 2013  Tidewater Regional Office  Brenda Brown  Northampton County  Hermitage Farms Nursery 

Hermitage Farms Nursery has applied for a new permit in Northampton County, Virginia. The permit would allow the applicant to withdraw an average of 156,795 gallons per day. The groundwater withdrawal will be used to supply water for three green/propagation houses, drip irrigation and overhead irrigation, and supplementation of two irrigation ponds. The proposed withdrawal will utilize the Middle Yorktown-Eastover Aquifer at a depth between 187 feet to 255 feet below the land surface at the withdrawal site. An aquifer is a body of rock or layer of sediment in the ground in which groundwater is stored and transported. DEQ has made a tentative decision to issue the permit.

April 20, 2013 to May 20, 2013  Tidewater Regional Office  Hank Ghittino  Cape Charles, Northampton County  Bayshore Concrete Products Corporation 

Bayshore Concrete Products Corporation has applied for reissuance of a permit for Bayshore Concrete Products Corporation in Cape Charles, Virginia. The permit would allow the applicant to withdraw an average of 73,973 gallons per day. The ground water withdrawal will support necessary process water for the production of concrete and potable water for plant operations. The proposed withdrawal will utilize the Upper and Middle Yorktown Eastover aquifers at a depth between 100 feet to 222 feet below the land surface at the withdrawal site. An aquifer is a body of rock or layer of sediment in the ground in which ground water is stored and transported. DEQ has made a tentative decision to issue the permit.

April 20, 2013 to May 20, 2013  Tidewater Regional Office  Brenda Brown  Accomack County  Trails End Utility Company, Inc. 

Chincoteague Bay Trails End Association, Inc. has applied for reissuance of a permit, with modification, for Trails End Utility Company, Inc. in Horntown, Virginia. The permit would allow the applicant to withdraw an average of 48,959 gallons per day. The groundwater withdrawal will be used for a public water supply serving a campground with 225 permanent homes and 2,375 transient sites for trailers and campers. The proposed withdrawal will utilize the Columbia Aquifer and Middle Yorktown-Eastover Aquifer at a depth to 70 feet below the land surface and between 215 feet to approximately 300 feet below the land surface, respectively, at the withdrawal site. An aquifer is a body of rock or layer of sediment in the ground in which groundwater is stored and transported. DEQ has made a tentative decision to issue the permit.

April 14, 2013 to May 14, 2013  Tidewater Regional Office  Brenda Brown  Hampton City  Bethel Landfill  USA Waste of Virginia Landfills, Inc. has applied for a new permit for Bethel Landfill in Hampton, Virginia. The permit would allow the applicant to withdraw an average of 228,548 gallons per day. The groundwater withdrawal will be used for dewatering of the landfill liner systems to protect the integrity of the liner until each landfill phase has been loaded with waste. The proposed withdrawal will utilize the Columbia aquifer at a depth between 0 feet to 55 feet below the land surface at the withdrawal site. An aquifer is a body of rock or layer of sediment in the ground in which groundwater is stored and transported. DEQ has made a tentative decision to issue the permit.

April 3, 2013 to May 10, 2013  Central Office  C. Erinn Tisdale  New Kent County  Woodhaven Shores Water System  Woodhaven Water Company, Inc. has applied for a reissuance of a permit for the Woodhaven Shores Water System in New Kent County, Virginia. The permit would allow the applicant to withdraw an average of 93,960 gallons per day. The ground water withdrawal will support the residential connections within the Woodhaven Shores service area. The proposed withdrawal will utilize the Middle Potomac aquifer at a depth between 270 feet to 382 feet below the land surface at the withdrawal site. An aquifer is a body of rock or layer of sediment in the ground in which ground water is stored and transported. DEQ has made a tentative decision to issue the permit.
