Power Plants in Virginia

The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality is responsible for issuing several types of air and water permits for the construction and operation of power plants. Virginia DEQ also conducts air and water monitoring to ensure that environmental standards are maintained to protect the health of Virginians and the environment. In some cases, the permit requirements include computer analysis, or modeling, of air quality to help determine how emissions may affect the environment. Virginia DEQ is presenting this information about power plants to ensure that the public has access to important information about the status of permit applications, monitoring and modeling data, and links to other information sources. Additional information will be added to this web site as it becomes available.
