Chesapeake Bay and Virginia Waters Clean-Up Plan
Virginia’s strategy to restore impaired waters focuses on Chesapeake Bay Restoration and Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) program implementation. Since January 2007, Virginia has reported progress in these areas by presenting the annual Chesapeake Bay and Virginia Waters Clean-up Plan. This report is submitted per Chapter 204 of the 2006 Acts of Assembly. The directive for the construction of the Clean-up Plan resulted from House Bill 1150 (2006), which was sponsored by Delegate L. Scott Lingamfelter of Prince William County and signed into law by Governor Timothy M. Kaine on April 3, 2006.
